1.  Thank you very much indeed for the fantastic response to the appeal, organised by the Ladies Night group in partnership with York City of Sanctuary,  for items to help refugees set up home in Middlesbrough and other places.  The church hall was filled with a wonderful array of things last Saturday.

2.  Would you like to visit Hull City of Culture? Join us on 7 November when our coach will depart at 8.45 am from Haxby and Wigginton for a visit starting at Hull Minster with free time to see museums, other attractions or shopping within easy walking distance and to get some lunch. In the afternoon the coach will take us to spend some time with Chris and Anna to see where they work and hear more about it. The cost will be about £10 - £12 depending on numbers and will be payable on the coach. Booking is essential - please sign the sheet in church if you want to go. 3.  The first in this year’s series of Autumn Concerts is next Sunday, 22nd October at 2.30 pm in church.  Ian Evans will give a recital ‘Around Britain in Song’, accompanied by Fiona Evans and we also welcome Elly Tanner who will be playing her flute.  Tickets from Aroma or in church.

4.  2017 Shoe Box appeal (1.10.17 - 18.11.17)

If you would like to fill a shoe box, please contact Alyson (on 0739 8772720) for a ready made box.  Please see the leaflets in church or the website for more information.  Filled boxes will be collected from church or Aroma between 22nd October and 18th November.  Thank you.

5.  ‘GRAVETALK’ – Wednesday 1st November 12.30 pm – 3.00 pm in St Mary’s church hall.  A chance to talk about difficult subjects in a relaxed setting.  A light lunch will be served.  Please sign the sheet if you plan to come.

6.  A great big thank you to everyone who contributed so generously to the Christian Aid Emergency Appeal for the Myanmar and Bangladesh refugees. A total of £265 was raised

7.  The recent CMS ST Crux Day made £1,270.19.  A very big thank you to everyone who donated items or helped in any way.
