Messy Church

Welcome to our Messy Church page!

Messy Church is a national initiative of the Bible Reading Fellowship (BRF).

Many churches run a Messy Church and you may already know people who attend one.

But if you are new to the idea here's a summary of what it's about:

  • Messy Church is a form of church for families (children and adults) that involves creativity, celebration and hospitality.
  • It's primarily for people who don't already belong to another form of church.
  • It meets at a time and place that suits people who don't already belong to church.
  • It typically includes a welcome, a long creative time to explore a biblical theme through getting messy; a short celebration time involving story, prayer, song, games and similar; and a sit-down meal together at tables.

We believe that Messy Church   offers something exciting on a regular basis for families and the Benefice will be offering regular sessions.

Our next sessions are:

* Messy Harvest

on 30 September, and

* Messy Christmas

on 2 December

Both sessions will run from

3.00 - 5.00 pm on Sunday afternoons at St Nicholas Church, Back Lane, Wigginton, YO32 2ZH.

Places will be limited due to the size of the venue, so to be sure of a place please book in advance by contacting us at messychurchhw@gmail.com or on 07910 083965.

If you would like to find out more about Messy Church, take a look at their website www.messychurch.org.uk where you can find an introductory video showing a typical session.

We look forward to seeing you there!
